Common Conditions Treated

There are many conditions that can be treated with physical therapy. Some common ones are:

Back and Neck Pain

At Core Physical Therapy we utilize a hands on approach combined with skilled exercise and movement. We also apply the most widely researched and evidence-based system for the evaluation and treatment of spinal conditions.

We take a great deal of care in our initial assessment of back and neck pain to ensure that we can be accurate in our recommendations for your care.

In addition to the therapy you will receive in our clinic, we will also provide you with the strategies to manage your symptoms and help you to avoid recurring pain.

Pre and Post Surgery

Research supports the practice of having physical therapy both before and after joint replacements and other surgery to speed up healing and lead to a full recovery.

We are knowledgeable about joint replacement surgery and other surgeries and will work as a team with you surgeon and physician to determine the most effective therapy for you.

Our goal is to help you increase strength, activity and range of motion so that you can return to a normally active life as quickly as possible without recurring problems.

Chronic pain

Chronic pain can seriously impact your quality of life and be difficult to treat.   It requires a comprehensive approach. At Core, we apply an individualized approach to care including skilled hands on care, gentle but progressive exercise and activity, dry needling, modalities, taping techniques along with education on pain and coping strategies for clients suffering from chronic pain and fibromyalgia.

These conditions often cause deep radiating pain and soreness, sensitivity to touch, fatigue and stress among many other symptoms.

Workplace Rehabilitation

We will work with your physician and Workers’ Compensation representative as a team to help injured workers heal and rehabilitate after workplace injuries and return to work as quickly as possible.

At the same time we will assess the physical skills to complete your duties and ensure that you do not risk re-injury by returning too early in the healing process.

We also provide work hardening and work conditioning programs to provide a graduated and safe return to the workplace.

Motor Vehicle Accidents

We are experienced in helping patients recover from whiplash and musculoskeletal issues associated with motor vehicle accidents.

We will join a team with your physician and insurance providers and other health professionals to ensure a safe approach is taken to your care and recovery.

We can provide reports for your insurance provider and customize your program of care.

Balance and Gait Issues

Dizziness and balance issues can seriously impact a person’s quality of life, making it difficult for them to conduct the normal issues of daily life and fostering fear of going out alone.

Signs of balance issues include frequent falls, vertigo, imbalance, dizziness, and migraines.

It is important to receive proper therapy to avoid compounding the difficulties caused by imbalance issues, including a tendency to fall and create more injuries.

We also work to conduct gait assessments to ensure that you are making the most of your motion efforts. When you’re running or walking gait is off, not only will your ability to walk and run be compromised, but it can lead to other issues if left untreated.

Sport Injuries

We treat high school, college and recreational athletes who have sustained sports injuries such as sprains, strains and fractures.

Our goal is to determine the cause of your injury, reduce pain and inflammation, and begin the healing process. We also work to help you understand what happened and why, and how you can prevent injuries from recurring.

We know you don’t want to be sidelined from your favorite sport so we make every effort to help you get safely back into your game as quickly as possible.

We will work with each patient one on one to customize a program of care to treat these common conditions and more. If you are questioning whether physical therapy is the right fit for you, please feel free to call CORE at 608-882-9080, and we would be happy to answer any questions you may have!
